Double strut design – laced I-section chords to EN 1993-1-1
Two rolled I-section chords laced in one plane: design cases built from the strut forces, eccentricity, self-weight, temperature, live load and accidental loads; second-order chord force, chord member check and lacing check.
Calculation method
EN 1993-1-1, 6.4 laced built-up member: Ieff = 0.5h0²Ach, shear stiffness Sv of Warren lacing (Figure 6.9), MEd with e0 = L/500, Nch,Ed (6.69), chord check to 6.2, 6.3 and Annex B with Lch = a, VEd = πMEd/L (6.70) and angle diagonals to Annex BB.1.2.
